Hello all!
A couple of days ago, completely by chance, I saw a folder with very cool materials in Spanish for children to learn and practice reading at a bookstore. There were several books in the folder, plus materials for adults to use them with the kids to foster reading. These books are published by "Editorial El Pirata," so I thought I'd check it out. Here's the link:
I really liked the "educational projects" and other books that they offer. Since I'm already buying a ridiculous amount of books for my daughter that I'll have to pack in my suitcase (not sure how that's going to happen, but that's a different story , I contacted them to find out whether they would send books to the US, which is where I live. This is a summary of what they sent me:
(1) Buying online to a Spain address: free shipping/handling. If the order is below 14,50 euros, it might take up to 15 days to receive it.
(2) Buying online and shipping to an European country: 15 euros for shipping and handling. If your final order is 60 euros or more, I believe the shipping/handling is free.
(3) Buying online and shipping to the US: 50 euros in shipping and handling They were not sure if the price would be higher due to the implementation of new tariffs, but they also said that if I were to buy something, they might charge a lower price for the books so that not all the money goes for S&H.
Their international distribution includes Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay. They thought they'd begin their distribution within the US market "sooner than later," but no date yet.
I thought the books and projects for reading and learning how to deal with emotions were pretty cool, and they have different books/projects depending on the child's age... which means that I might have to re-evaluate how I organize my suitcase in order to find some space for these...
