Well here it is the last day of April and I’m signing in to let you know how my March goals went!
I did pretty well with being consistent on a daily basis in March. For our challenge #3 (daily homework routine), I only missed one day with my five year old, and two days with my seven year old. (We also didn’t do any on days we were off school, but my goal was only to do it on normal school days - i.e. not weekends.)
We kept up with Challenge #2 (listening to ml music daily - including weekends). We only missed two days.
We also kept up with Challenge #1 (Reading aloud). When I averaged out my numbers of minutes reading per day per child, the numbers were very close to what they had been in February. But rather than thinking I didn’t improve, I was actually very encouraged because March was a crazy month and I managed to keep my reading level consistent. I also finished reading my own ml book.
As far as April goes, I decided within the first week that we were going to take a break for April. (Thanks for checking in on me Raquel and Amy - sorry I didn't reply!) It was a very very very busy month, with spring break and tons of other family events. I realized I could not enjoy all these ML activities and worry about how they were affecting the ml, or I could enjoy them for the fun events they were and be happy about the wonderful ML relationships my children have. We did not take a break from ml, just a break from tracking everything down to the minute. So we continued reading in ml, I just don’t know how many minutes I read to each child. We missed some days but I didn’t log them so I don’t know which ones. I did buy several new ml books that arrived last week so we have been enjoying those, and we continued our ml homework routine on the days that we did have school.
I am ready to jump back in during May, and hopefully will be back soon to post my goals for this coming month!
