I wanted to create this thread to share another useful tool in providing language exposure.
When I first discovered this forum, Jo let me discover Chromecast (there is also an Apple equivalent: Apple TV). For those who are as ignorant of what it is as I was in the beginning, it's a little device you plug into your telly and which allows to broadcast on your TV screen whatever you chose to share from your tablet (Youtube app, Netflix...).
This device has been an important tool in our ml exposure strategy. As in this thread when I discovered Chromecast, I use it to broadcast ml cartoons from Youtube onto our TV set, but I also use it to create a ml atmosphere at home. The purpose is to create ml exposure using the telly but by broadcasting materials that will not incite my children to stay staring at the screen all day long. It's like playing ml music in the background, except it is more varied.
In addition to the cartoons, I use it to broadcast ml music video clips, as well as documentaries. And I have just discovered that some other ml apps offer the Chromecast connection facility (RTVE for those who have Spanish as an ml) - I use to think Chromecast's app selection was a bit restricted and this discovery today delighted me, so I wanted to share it with you in case it could be of any help to you.
This afternoon, we have broadcasted quality ml documentaries and it created a lovely ml atmosphere. My husband was even delighted to watch a documentary on one of interests.
