Undraa, thanks for your question! I printed it out for my kids and had them write a response. Here's what they said...
I usually speak to him in Japanese...but now that we're older, we don't really talk to each other so much. (LOL) When we speak together in English, it now feels a little awkward, especially if my dad isn't there, too, because we've gotten used to speaking in Japanese.
Mostly Japanese, but it depends on the situation. When we do, it feels nauseating.
(I think he's joking.)
Basically, because my kids have always attended Japanese schools--and school, of course, is such a big part of their lives--it doesn't surprise me that their "default language" for their communication as siblings is now Japanese. They can still switch easily to English with me or other English speakers--and at those times will then carry on in English when addressing one another as well--but I guess it's only natural that they're inclined to speak Japanese not only with their mother but also between themselves. Actually, before they entered elementary school, they often used English as a shared language, too, but that tendency has declined over time. At this point, though, since their English ability is well established, it doesn't really trouble me that Japanese has grown more dominant in their everyday lives.

Thank you very much for the answer, Roy, Lulu and Adam. My kids speak ML to each other all the time but when I ask them to speak in ml my older son has no trouble switching. He told me, though, that he thought Tamir did not understand Mongolian. I also decided to accept that Danish is their default language after reading other posts in this forum, as long as they converse in ml when it is necessary. Your answer confirmed my decision. Thank you.
