Thanks Raquel! Re the reading, it's just that when we were back home for the holidays, many of the children I met wanted to spend so much time reading that they were sort of holed up in their rooms reading all the time - to the extent that one little girl (aged 7) told everyone she was going to the loo during dinner time, and in fact she locked herself in there with her book to read. It took everyone a while to work out what was happening, haha! Anyway, I suppose that, as you say, that is the dream and that in practice, she will indeed have to speak to her poor mummy at least sometimes!
It is also very reassuring regarding the differences among kids! In the past few days, my son has started to try to say some more words, which is exciting! He also started walking yesterday so perhaps sometimes has 'gone off' in his brain. I still wish he would concentrate a bit longer on books, but hopefully that will come!
In other news, yesterday we parents had an interview at the bilingual school we applied for. It was just us, without our daughter, as she already did the 'test' a few weeks ago. The teacher was nice and, a bit to my surprise, seemed very happy/impressed with the fact that we had the three languages. I had been anticipating a few negative comments about this (the school is focused on our ML and ml1, so I was worried they might think that a third language might pose a problem in terms of overall level or in their mind be an indication that we were some kind of 'tiger parents', which I know they want to avoid), so was quite surprised that the teacher was so positive about it. I think the interview went pretty well, but the main assessment point is the test that the children do, and we didn't get any feedback on that (and the interviewer hadn't seen the result).
