We are Pedro (Spain) & Akane (Japan), parents of a Budapest-born 6-month-old baby called Kaito. We are starting to adventure ourselves in the world of bilingual education. Struggling to find families with the same concerns and experiences, we landed in The Bilingual Zoo which feels like the perfect community.
We’re a trilingual family (Spanish-English-French) and I wanted to share a message of hope with you: you can happily live with 3 languages. If you have concerns, need ideas, or want to discuss something feel free to reach out.

Welcome, Pedro and Akane! I hope you find this forum, as well as my blog and my book, helpful sources of support on your multilingual journey. Make the most of each day with little Kaito and I'm sure you'll experience a lot of joyful success as time passes. I look forward to following your progress.
Cheers from Hiroshima, Japan to Budapest, Hungary!

Mayken: We visited a Loire Valley château yesterday. Our daughter got a kids' activity booklet and we parents got the regular tour booklet in French. She asked for one in German (our ml). When I later asked her why, she said "Because I'm a German-speaker!"

Nellie: Haha love it Mayken! The best thing is - she is right!
