Thanks, Mayken and Amy. It wasn't my intention to be hard on myself, haha.
Sorry again that I don't have time to comment elsewhere. Up until September, I don't get to have much online time.
Goals from last week:
- Have my son spend at least 35h and my daughter 40h in the ml. - Done. - Read to my kids at least 5 days before bedtime. - Not done. With so much going on in the summer and staying up until late, they're either asleep or I don't want to keep them up any longer. The good news is they're being read 2 books 5 days a week, by their nanny. - Have the American nanny read 2 new books to them every day Monday-Friday. - Done. - Have my daughter read at least 6 days in the ml. - Done. - Have my daughter do some math or write at least 4 days.- Not done. I've been lazy and I need to start doing this again. - Have my son do some tracing when possible. - Done. - Try to work on numbers with my son. - I tried one day, but one day isn't enough. - Play audiobooks in the car. - Done. - Have sometimes the radio on when the kids are playing at home. Only when their nanny isn't around. - Technically, I did do it, but there was only one day when they were home playing and the nanny wasn't around, so I may need to forget about this until the end of summer. - Try to play a board game, at least once, with my daughter. - Done. We got a couple new board games just now. I'm looking forward to seeing how she likes them. - Read myself. - Done. I finished one book and started a new one yesterday.
Goals for this week: - Have my son spend at least 35h and my daughter 40h in the ml. Enjoy having my kids home and an American nanny. They're getting plenty of ml exposure this month, so it's nice not to have to count hours. - Read to my kids at least 5 days before bedtime whenever possible. - Have the American nanny read 2 new books to them every day Monday-Friday. - Have my daughter read at least 6 days in the ml. - Have my daughter do some math or write at least 4 days. - Have my son do some tracing when possible. Buy a new tracing book. - Try to work on numbers with my son. - Play audiobooks in the car. - Have sometimes the radio on when the kids are playing at home. Only when their nanny isn't around. - Try to play a board game, at least once, with my daughter. - Read myself.

Adam Beck: Caro, thanks for sharing that lovely song. Raffi was one of our very favorite musicians when my kids were small. We listened to him all the time. I highly recommend his albums as a source of very enjoyable and very effective English input.

SheilaC: I am concern about our upcoming big change to Public school with all English teaching and minimal Spanish. We have been lucky until now with Spanish speaking Nanny and Spanish immersion preschool. We are doing 2-day per week with Spanish after school.

Amy: @sheilac, I suggest you create an actual thread on the "Questions & Concerns" board, so fellow Zoo Keepers can help you with your concerns. 256 characters is too little to discuss something that is so important to your heart

Mayken: Adam Beck, thanks for that very interesting and timely post - it justifies the large order for ml books and DVDs I'm about to place in view of my daughters upcoming birthday!

Adam Beck: Great to hear this, Mayken! And happy birthday to both yours and mine! (They have the same birthday, don't they?) And if anyone missed that post, here's the link once more...
