My twin girls recently started kindergarten here in Mexico City and now have Spanish homework. Even though they have English class (an hour a day), they aren’t getting any English homework yet and that reminded me about Adam's success with embedding English homework from an early age with his children. So I was wondering whether anybody can recommend an English exercise/homework book for 4 year olds that you can buy online. Thanks.
**NEW! Bearded Dragon Daydreams Coloring Book, created by me and my son, is now available at booksellers worldwide!** Adam Beck is the author of the popular nonfiction books "Maximize Your Child's Bilingual Ability" and "I WANT TO BE BILINGUAL!" (illustrated by Pavel Goldaev) as well as the award-winning humorous novel "How I Lost My Ear" (illustrated by Simon Farrow).
At age four in the UK for homework we read to the kids every night English books and also do phonics and kids learn to read level 1 reading books so my daughter reads one or two books to me in addition to the book I read to her every night (a more difficult but fun book for her to listen to). They also practice writing their name, and other letters. I think the best thing you can do to enhance the English is read to your kids in English and teach them how to read to you.
Now that my daughter is enrolled in a bilingual school, she also gets French homework in addition to the above, which includes going through French vocab, learning French songs, reading books in French. You could teach your children one English song a week (easy ones like Row Row Your Boat, Twinkle Little Star, Wheels on the Bus). These songs are all on youtube and you can print the lyrics out if needed to sing with them. My daughter is learning one new French song a week. When she was younger they did this in nursery and daycare so she already knows most of the English songs.
Mayken: We're at Harry Potter Book Night at the English bookshop in Paris. The activities are all in French but my daughter teamed up for the treasure hunt with a girl who also speaks ouf ml German!

Mayken: My daughter found the secret stash of ml books I'd bought at the closure sale of the ml book store two months ago and hidden away for later. Guess it's a good time for new books now, right?

Caro C.: My baby (16mo) perfectly knows what "hi5" means and readily shows her hand even when we are not showing our hand first. It feels like the first minor blossom of the bilingual seed.
