I am at home alone the majority of the time with my children. I am the ml speaker (French). All of my children have different special needs (autism, CP, exposure to drugs and alcohol in-utero, problems with articulation, etc). They are all in speech therapy for the ML. And the two youngest also do speech therapy in the ml. The children's dominant language is the ML (English). I am trying hard to provide them with consistent ml exposure from me. What do I do when I hear them make grammatical errors in the ML? I used to ignore it and teach the way to say it in the minority language, but I worry that I am contributing to their delays in the ML by not correcting them and they will be in speech therapy FOREVER!!!!!!
Melissa, since you and the speech therapist know the children and their abilities best, I would encourage the two of you to discuss this issue. Generally speaking, children's grammatical errors can resolve themselves in time without overt correction, provided they have sufficient exposure to a standard form of the target language, but not knowing your situation in full detail, I'm not in a position to say whether or not this would be true in your case.
I send good wishes to you all.

Marisa: "Victory moment:" My almost 4-year-old daughter told me yesterday in the ml (rough translation): "mom, there's something wrong with the cartoons, can you fix it, please?"... she was accidentally watching TV in the ML! So I gladly obliged
