I have 3 months old baby girl, my husband & I live in Turkey. Our native language is Kurdish but our strongest language is Arabic. My husband speaks with our baby in Arabic and I speak with her in English (although I am not fluent) while we communicate with each other in Kurdish. We do not care about Turkish now because she will learn it anyway and become her first language when we send her to a kindergarten and we think she will learn Kurdish from surrounding so we do not need to focus on it. I am discomfited now. I am afraid that all these languages will confuse her especially that I am not advanced in English and can't afford a native babysitter, at the same time I terribly want her to learn English early because our native language is not a strong language.
I need your advice. Is it better to focus on Arabic and Kurdish and forget about English now until she becomes older or continue to speak in English all the time and improve my English with her? What about only 1 hour a day for English by reading aloud to her?

Marisa: "Victory moment:" My almost 4-year-old daughter told me yesterday in the ml (rough translation): "mom, there's something wrong with the cartoons, can you fix it, please?"... she was accidentally watching TV in the ML! So I gladly obliged

Mayken: My daughter found the secret stash of ml books I'd bought at the closure sale of the ml book store two months ago and hidden away for later. Guess it's a good time for new books now, right?

Caro C.: My baby (16mo) perfectly knows what "hi5" means and readily shows her hand even when we are not showing our hand first. It feels like the first minor blossom of the bilingual seed.
