Friends! At the start of 2019, my 6 year old and I started a Hindi (Hindustani) language FUN podcast of made-up stories. We "YES AND" each other and build crazy unexpected stories! Getting great responses from families so far.
Sharing here for families that have kids interested in fun, CREATIVE and IMAGINATIVE storytelling while learning HINDI.
Deepti, this is a wonderful idea, the sort of creative approach for promoting language exposure and use that can be both very effective and very enjoyable--for both the child and the parent. You and your son get a standing ovation for your creativity and drive!
Let me also share, for everyone, a link that describes an earlier creative project pursued by Deepti and her son. It was another winning idea!
Adam Beck is the author of the popular nonfiction books "Maximize Your Child's Bilingual Ability" and "I WANT TO BE BILINGUAL!" (illustrated by Pavel Goldaev) as well as the award-winning humorous novel "How I Lost My Ear" (illustrated by Simon Farrow).
Thanks a million, Amy!! So thoughtful, otherwise I don't think I would have found it, and it's great!
Deepti , this is brilliant, looks like tons of fun and it will be so helpful for us!! Your son sounds so cute. My son at the moment just says "tara" (star) every time he sees a star, and that's all he mutters in Hindi, although he understands it.This and some lovely flashcards I received in Hindi (Linguacious cards if you're curious) will help us lots I am sure!
And I already want to learn more so I can understand too.
Marisa: "Victory moment:" My almost 4-year-old daughter told me yesterday in the ml (rough translation): "mom, there's something wrong with the cartoons, can you fix it, please?"... she was accidentally watching TV in the ML! So I gladly obliged
