Abbi, I had a look at that list and am trying to work out what it is for (and google isn't working!). Surely it's not a list of words that a 6 year old should know? Is it words they are supposed to be able to write?
I would love to find something like this for Spanish too. I created my own by taking my daughter's school report (for ML and her ml1), and identifying all the terms and concepts the children are expected to know by the end of the first year of school and translating them into Spanish (our ml2). But I would love to find a list!

The link is words they should be able to read and write in English. For my son, though, I am thinking more about knowing the meaning of the vocabulary as spelling is not such an issue in Spanish. Thanks for your comment.
SheilaC: I am concern about our upcoming big change to Public school with all English teaching and minimal Spanish. We have been lucky until now with Spanish speaking Nanny and Spanish immersion preschool. We are doing 2-day per week with Spanish after school.

Amy: @sheilac, I suggest you create an actual thread on the "Questions & Concerns" board, so fellow Zoo Keepers can help you with your concerns. 256 characters is too little to discuss something that is so important to your heart

Mayken: Adam Beck, thanks for that very interesting and timely post - it justifies the large order for ml books and DVDs I'm about to place in view of my daughters upcoming birthday!

Adam Beck: Great to hear this, Mayken! And happy birthday to both yours and mine! (They have the same birthday, don't they?) And if anyone missed that post, here's the link once more...

Mayken: It's our last night in Canada. We've said goodbye to our English-speaking and bilingual English/French friends but we have lots of memories and souvenirs. Let's see how I can keep up the momentum back home.
